Code of Conduct

Effective Date: July 27, 2026

At Crit & Ale LLC, our goal is simple: create memorable experiences where everyone feels welcome, included, and excited to participate.

Whether you're solving a murder mystery, singing karaoke, competing in trivia, playing Music Bingo, or attending one of our other events, we ask every guest to help us maintain a fun, respectful environment.

By attending a Crit & Ale event, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct.

Be Respectful

Treat fellow guests, venue staff, and Crit & Ale team members with kindness and respect.

We welcome people of all backgrounds, identities, abilities, and experience levels. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, bullying, or abusive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.

Respect Personal Boundaries

Many of our events are interactive, but participation is always voluntary.

Please respect personal space and obtain consent before initiating physical contact with another guest.

No one should ever feel pressured to participate beyond their comfort level.

Play Fair

Our events are designed to be enjoyable for everyone.

Please avoid behavior that disrupts the experience, including:

  • Cheating during games or competitions

  • Intentionally revealing answers or story endings

  • Damaging props, game materials, or venue property

  • Interrupting hosts or performers

  • Excessively loud, disruptive, or aggressive behavior

Friendly competition is encouraged. Unsportsmanlike conduct is not.

Photography and Recording

Guests are welcome to take photos and short videos during most public events unless otherwise announced.

To help preserve the experience for future guests, please avoid sharing spoilers for our murder mysteries, puzzles, trivia questions, or other interactive content.

Please be respectful of guests who prefer not to appear in photos or videos.

Costumes and Props

Costumes are often encouraged and are part of the fun.

However:

  • Costumes must remain appropriate for the venue and intended audience.

  • Clothing that contains hateful, discriminatory, or excessively explicit content is not permitted.

  • Prop weapons must comply with venue rules and may be prohibited at certain locations.

  • Real weapons are never permitted at Crit & Ale events.

If you're unsure whether a costume or prop is appropriate, please contact us before the event.

Alcohol and Substance Use

Many of our events take place at venues that serve alcohol.

Guests are expected to drink responsibly and comply with all applicable laws and venue policies.

Anyone whose behavior becomes disruptive, unsafe, or threatening due to intoxication or substance use may be asked to leave without a refund.

Follow Venue Rules

Our events are hosted in partnership with outstanding local venues.

Please follow all posted venue policies, staff instructions, and safety procedures while attending a Crit & Ale event.

Help Create an Inclusive Community

Many guests attend our events alone, with family, or as first-time participants.

Help make everyone feel welcome by encouraging new players, celebrating good sportsmanship, and remembering that our goal is shared fun, not simply winning.

Report Concerns

If you experience or witness behavior that makes you or another guest feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please notify a Crit & Ale host or a venue staff member as soon as possible.

We take concerns seriously and will address them promptly and respectfully.

Enforcement

Crit & Ale LLC reserves the right to:

  • Issue verbal warnings.

  • Remove individuals from an event without refund.

  • Refuse future admission to events.

  • Contact venue security or law enforcement when necessary to protect the safety of guests or staff.

These actions may be taken when behavior violates this Code of Conduct, applicable laws, or venue policies.
